Language of Joy

I didn’t find my peace until my 70s
after decades of doing other practices and processes.

You don’t need years of practice.
You don’t need to wait to feel the emotional shift.

Feel the shift when you change your words from
“I’m such a mess.” to “I feel scattered today.”

Notice the effect of the harsh judgment

Why I Created
Language Of Joy

Because the conventional English language we speak supports our domination culture.
Because conventional English allows us to make our opinions into facts and so creates unnecessary conflict.
Because our language distances us from life energy and so from our emotions and our deep self.
I change the English language for all those reasons.
Yet I felt called to create Language of Joy because when I changed my language.
I stopped fighting with myself and found an inner peace I never knew before.
I desire that for YOU.

The Power of Words

My exploration of language started when I realized that the phrase “I’m sorry” caused me to bow my head, lower my shoulders and filled me with guilt and shame.

In Language of Joy, we explore how words affect each of us emotionally. Each of us reacts in our own unique way — from our individual DNA to our childhood experiences.

When we notice our words and the energetic charge they carry, the awareness of our feelings grows. Letting our feelings help us find and meet our needs brings inner peace and contentment.

A Verb Based Language Gives a Realistic View of Life

“I (Rupert Ross) struggled for some time to find a way to express

how I perceive the difference between my English speaking world and

the world my Aboriginal friends tell me their languages give them.

I sense that if you decide that the first reality holds constant change,

if you discard our belief in the usefulness of judgmental absolutes

like “good” and “bad” and choose to speak in terms of relative movement

like “towards harmony” instead, then a lot of other things change as well…

These different worlds feel like the difference between standing

behind the triple-pane window of your cliffside mansion and

watching the sun go down over a quieting ocean —

and watching instead the first beginnings of a sunrise over that same ocean,

but from flat on your belly on a wet surfboard three hundred miles out

from the shore, as the ocean beneath you awakens.

In the cliff side mansion, you can maintain a conviction of

separation, stability and control.

On the surfboard, you hold a conviction of intimate and

inescapable exposure to unfathomable powers which,

while they might let you ride them, will never let you gain control over them.

If you find yourself alone on a surfboard as the ocean starts to stir;

you don’t know what it will bring you that day. You face only the true certainty

that you cannot change those waves– only the way you ride them — and that your riding

will depend on how much you can accommodate yourself to their forces.
